So, probably you’re wondering why I haven’t written this post sooner. I guess it’s because I figured if you’re here reading my stuff, you already know why you should blog. A friend of mine told me I was wrong about that and told me to go ahead and write this already. So, Maria, here it is. (Thanks for the push.)

A blog gives you a chance to create brand awareness.Click To Tweet

So you can use your blog to create that awareness and also offer insight into what your values are. It’s your chance to let your vibe attract your tribe, if you will. In fact, a blog can help a customer all the way down the funnel from awareness to consideration to intent to decision, but let’s not get ahead of ourselves.

It’s a way to set yourself apart from all the other people or businesses who are doing what you do. It gives you the ability to make delicious KLT sandwiches for people. (What’s a KLT? Know. Like. Trust. People do business with those they know, like, and trust.) When you give your customers a chance to know you, you also give them a chance to want to be a part of what you’re doing. Blogging is one of the most cost-effective ways to do this.

For those of you who are in direct sales/MLM, you know how hard it can be to stand out from the crowd. A blog is a VERY GOOD WAY to do this. Your blog will tell a customer why they should buy your lockets or skin care or what have you. (Caveat: check your company’s P&P on blogging/personal websites.)

“But, Steph,” you say, “I don’t own a business. So this doesn’t apply to me.” Friend, it applies to you.

Even if you don't own or run a business, you should still be blogging.Click To Tweet

Even if you’re not actively selling a product, you can be actively selling your lifestyle and using monetization strategies to get yourself a little cash on the side. But maybe you have a service you’ve been dying to sell or maybe you’ve got some REALLY GOOD Pinterest strategies or maybe you’ve unlocked the secret of Instagram fame, go BLOG ABOUT IT. Build a loyal following and offer to teach them your secrets. If you are alive, you’ve got something the world needs. I promise. (If you are dead, I cannot help you, Zombie or Vampire. Go away…although I’d probably read your blog, so disregard. Please blog.)

So, there you have it, the reasons why you should blog.
